Edu-Pro Connect
By 2025, 3.5 million career opportunities in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields will be available in the United States, yet over 2 million of those are projected to go unfilled.
To spark interest in these fields, the Maricopa County Office of the School Superintendent has launched Educator Pro Connect — an innovative web app that connects educators with industry professionals for the purpose of introducing Arizona’s students to STEM career opportunities.
Philosophically similar to online dating apps, Educator Pro Connect instantly matches teachers with professionals based on weighted profile commonalities. Simple and intuitive workflows allow users to create events, send private messages, schedule classroom presentations in-person and via videoconference, and connect for discussions about content and student projects. Behind the scenes, a robust set of tools allow admins to run reports, create help files, and work with users in realtime to create optimal profiles.
After a year of strategizing, prototyping, and development, EducatorProConnect.org was released in November, 2019 with a pilot group of schools and professionals who helped fine-tune the product for its widespread launch in August, 2020.
